Founders Brian Pearson and Sira Berté leave successful careers in the US to launch their passion project under its original name, Santiago Adventures.
We focus on innovative day tours in Chile’s diverse central valley, breaking the cookie-cutter standard tours of Santiago and Valparaíso and becoming the first operator to offer glacier treks, boutique winery visits and trips to local vacation-spot favorites such as Zapallar.
We hire our first employee and subsequently add San Pedro and Patagonia to our destinations list.
We also begin to incorporate Mendoza and Buenos Aires into itineraries, becoming the first tour operator to combine both Argentina and Chile in one food & wine-focused trip.
We partner with Ski Arpa to create the first and only cat skiing operation in South America.
Planning a Chile trip for Baltimore Food & Wine Society puts us on the map as one of the only boutique operators in South America specializing in food & wine.
After years of development and planning, we become the first operator in Chile to offer bike & wine tours.
We continue to up our game, adding new destinations, reinforcing and expanding our local knowledge and fine-tuning our programs.
We develop exclusive partnerships with boutique, family-run operations such as Bouchon Family Wines’ Mingre Lodge in the Maule Valley and the Corcoran winery in the Maipo Valley.
The team reaches 10 and we move to a new office.
We add Uruguay and northern Argentina to our destinations list, effectively establishing ourselves as the only operator to offer food & wine tours throughout the southern cone.
We gain more international traction by attending our first trade show (Travel Mart Latin America) and hiring a PR firm.
Santiago Adventures turns 10 and National Geographic Traveler names our Bikes, Wine & Patagonia trip among their 50 Trips of a Lifetime.
Our insider expertise is recognized in founder Brian Pearson’s inclusion on Travel & Leisure’s A-List of Top Travel Agents.
We are invited to attend the prestigious PURE Life Experiences trade show in Morocco.
With the team up to 15, we move to a new, improved headquarters in the up-and-coming Barrio Italia area and re-launch the company as Upscape.
