Buenos Aires

The dramatic and unforgettable capital of Argentina

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Argentina’s chic capital city sits on the country’s eastern coast, luring visitors with its sultry tango, impassioned fútbol matches, and European flair. Known as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires is filled with art galleries, street markets, exclusive boutiques, beautiful people, and gourmet cuisine. The city has a seductive aura, full of old-world elegance paired with modern attitude.  From the cobblestone streets of barrio San Telmo which fill every Sunday with a wildly popular fair to the graceful ballet and opera at the historic Teatro Colón to the sleek restaurants lining the waterfront in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires swiftly captures the hearts of all who visit. At every turn, delicious cuts of beef, smooth red wine and swirls of dulce de leche entice the taste buds.

Start with:

A visit to Recoleta Cemetery.

It may not be a traditional place to “sightsee” but the Recoleta Cemetery is well worth a visit. Not only is it filled with history – the graves of Eva Peron, Argentine presidents – but it is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world. Wander through 14 acres of “streets” lined with marble mausoleums and elaborate architecture.

A dish of Argentine beef.

If there is one thing you eat in Argentina, have a bife de chorizo cut of meat. The meat in Argentina is truly delicious and a simple cut, without sauce or much seasoning, goes a long way.

Stopping to smell the roses.

Inside Palermo Woods park you’ll find Rosedal, a rose garden with more than 1,000 varieties and bursting with the colors and accompanying floral scents. You cannot imagine the enchanting beauty of this spot until you are there.
