01
In only three hours, find yourself a world away from the hustle of Santiago. You will pedal roughly 25 miles (40 km) to Puerto Octay, where you will have a picnic lunch on the shore of Lake Llanquihue.

Venture up the Casablanca Volcano for great views of the Puyehue, Osorno, and Calbuco Volcanoes or go out sea kayaking on the pristine Lake Puyehue and head to one of the several uninhabited islands that are home to wild red stag deer populations.

Cycle along the shore of Ranco Lake and pass by the small, lakeside towns of Llifen and Futrono where you are sure to find local producers of honey, blackberry and rasperberry jams, and wood carvings.

Continue your journey north through the Lakes District along the shore of Panguipulli Lake. Stop for homemade pizzas and craft beer at a local microbrewery.

As you bike on the flat, open road from Panguipulli to Calafquén, you’ll enjoy views of several area volcanoes. Arrive in the early afternoon to Vira Vira Hotel.

The Lakes District is known for its lush greenery and this morning you’ll hike through an old-growth Arucarian forest that lies at the foot of the Lanin Volcano. Following the morning’s hike, hop back on your bikes and ride from Quillehue Lake to Catripulli.

After breakfast, we will drive to Temuco’s airport for your connection back to Santiago.
