Puerto Varas Lakes District
WHY WE LOVE THIS HOME!
We love Puerto Varas in the Lake District so much that some of the Upscape team even lives there. This town, on the edge of Lago Llanquihue, is a fantastic base for visiting a couple of national parks, such as Vicente Pérez Rosales.
It’s also a great place from which to visit Chiloé, the large island in the central-south of Chile which has a culture, mythology and cuisine all its own. It is especially known for its stilted houses called palafitos, which are built out over the water and at high tide, are a photographer’s delight.
